About SIDEG

SIDEG is an independent strategic institute that studies how digital ecosystems reshape public institutions, decision‑making and governance. We focus on the infrastructures, software supply chains, standards, platforms and data flows that increasingly determine how government operates.

Our mission is to help governments, regulators and public organisations understand how these ecosystems work — who holds power, where dependencies emerge, which risks accumulate — and how to make strategic choices that hold up across technology, time and politics.

Our role

SIDEG works at the intersection of technology, governance and strategy. We combine academic research, technical expertise, scenario thinking and policy analysis to make complex digital questions understandable and actionable.

We support organisations dealing with digital dependencies, software‑supply‑chains, cloud architectures, automotive cybersecurity, data ecosystems and new forms of public infrastructure.

What sets us apart

Digital ecosystems are not isolated technologies — they are interconnected networks of suppliers, standards, platforms, data, governance structures and legal frameworks. SIDEG brings these elements together in a single model, enabling leaders and policy makers to see the whole system at once.

We focus on strategic questions: how to maintain control, how to safeguard public values, how to avoid lock‑in, how to make choices that still work ten years from now.

Our expertise

SIDEG works on themes such as:

  • digital ecosystems and power structures
  • digital sovereignty and public infrastructure
  • software‑supply‑chain governance
  • automotive cybersecurity and OTA chains
  • cloud architectures and dependencies
  • scenario development and strategic foresight
